Moto E4 PLUS Review

Moto is brands who have made its different image in the market with good build quality, better cameras and good price tags to their devices. In low price segment, it has Moto E series which is doing good in the market. also, Moto is been trending with its mid range G series of mobiles.

Moto is been in the strong position in the market with its E series devices, Some days back we have seen that Moto has launched new device named as Moto E4 which consists of  5 inch screen, 8 MP rare camera, 5 MP front facing camera with LED flash, fingerprint sensor and was powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset along with 2GB of RAM.

Now Moto is coming in market with next upgraded version of Moto E4. Motorola added a Plus variant, with a higher-resolution camera sensor and a massive, 5,000 mAh battery. this is the first time when Moto phone has been launched with this much of battery capacity which even get better with Quickie charging support with this device.

It will come in two variants one is Black and other is Fine Gold

Moto E4 plus have the metal back with a matte finish which feels nice to the touch. We will say that designs is too plane but still looks good. camera module at the back is not coming out side of the back surface so you will not have to worry about scratching of the camera lance when placed on the surface

The fingerprint scanner is a new addition to the Moto E family and can double as a full replacement for the phone’s virtual navigational buttons It’s placed in a nicely beveled ellipse under the screen and finding it by touch feels satisfying every time. The power button and volume rocker are clicky, placed on right-side of the device which is a common placement of Moto devices.

Moto E4 Plus 5.5-inch screen which is bright enough and also visible under sun light. also have filters to screen which makes screen some what yellow which protects your eyes, there are some other features like night mode, Reading mode. with comfortable screen size, it can be used for watching video on YouTube, playing games and for some regular stuff. The gaming experience on Moto E4 plus device with the 5.5-inch display was nice, I personally like some what big screen devices but its also comfortable.

As it’s named as plus device so it has additional screen size it offers you 5.5-inch screen with the resolution of 720 X1280 pixels has PPI of 267. screen covers ~69.4% of the body and protected by Gorilla Glass 3 which makes this device scratch proof.

Performance and Memory

Here coming to the performance you will get 3GB of RAM, and comes with two storage options 16 GB and 32 GB you can expand it up to 128 GB by using SD Card which will be used in the dedicated slot in the device. It is good that it does not have Hybrid SIM slot so you can use two SIM and also SD Card at the same time.

Now Moto E4 plus comes with latest android operating system Android 7.1.1 (nougat) which is one of the plus point of this device at this price point. So you can enjoy new android fractures it comes with stock Android.

The device is powered by MediaTek MT6737 chipset Quad-core (Cortex A-53) processor with clock speed of 1.3 GHz and GPU Mail- T720. The processor is may be the weak point of this device it lacks at this price segment, other devices like XiaoMi note 4 which providing Snapdragon processor with which is far better than the processor in this device.

It will perform well for normal use and also will run well with some mid-range Games with no frame-drops. When we tried some games on the device there were no frame drops, But it was struggling at some top end games. So if you play lots of games on your device it may disappoint you when you used for high-end gaming on this device.

Moto E4 has 13 MP camera but this time it let us down even in good lighting conditions also images taken do have some noise with lack of details. its dynamic range is not that good. Its colour reproduction is close to reality but photos ends up to some what dark and dull.

It does have HDR mode but it takes some time to capture the shot. you will have to hold device still to otherwise photo may be ghosty.

What about the selfie camera? Oh my does it carry over the terrible imaging. Details are fuzzy and getting an accidental shaky shot is super-easy, even in well-lit conditions. The presence of an LED flash next to the front camera implies that it takes good selfies, but in reality it does not.

Now technically Moto E4 Plus have on rare side we will have 13 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus. On the front we will have 5 MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The primary camera has the pixel size of 1.12 µm with some features like geo-tagging, HDR, Panorama. Coming to the secondary camera which has Pixel size of 1.4 µm. Also have LED flash on rare  as well as on front side

The Moto E4 Plus has a 5,000 mAh battery to keep its lights on for… what seems like forever. The handset survived for more than 13 hours in our battery benchmark test, making it our current 2017 champion, followed closely by the Samsung Galaxy A7. This was reflected in our daily usage as the phone just refused to die. Two-day battery life? That’s definitely achievable. Of course, it’s worth noting that we used it as what it is — a budget phone that’s best suited for barebones smartphone tasks.

Filling up that massive cell will take quite a bit of time as well — using the included charger, we still had to wait for 3 hours for the phone to get juiced from 0% to 100%
